PURPOSE:To improve dispersion stability by dispersing at least one kind of a disperse dye represented by a specific formula in water and a hydrophilic org. solvent. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of disperse dye represented by formula I (wherein R1 to R3 are each H, Cl, Br, methyl, or methoxy; and R4 is allyl, optionally substd. 1-6C alkyl, or 1-6C alkoxy) or a dye mixture comprising 50wt.% or higher the above-mentioned disperse dye and a dye represented by formula II [wherein A is a group of formula III (wherein R is 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy), etc.; and X is H, 1-6C alkyl, or 1-6C alkoxy] is mixed and ground in wet with an anionic or nonionic surfactant in an amt. of 0.2-5 times that of the dye or dye mixture and a specified amt. of water on a ball mill, providing a dye dispersion. To the dispersion is added a hydrophilic org. solvent such as polyethylene glycol or glycerin to provide an ink compsn. which contains 1-30wt.% dye, has a high dispersion stability during storage, and is used for ink jet printing of a hydrophobic fiber. |
