PURPOSE:To keep high collection efficiency and to minimize pressure loss against exhaust gas in a filter for collecting particulates (black smoke, fine particles, SOF and the like) contained in the exhaust gas from a diesel engine. CONSTITUTION:A foamed structural porous body made of a heat resistant metal and a fibrous structural porous body made by dispersedly fixing a metal fiber 5-40mum average diameter so as to have 5-25% space packing ratio, are laminated. Since the particulates having large particle diameter are collected mainly by the foamed structural porous body and the particulates having small particle diameter are collected by the fibrous structural porous body, collection efficiency is excellent, clogging is hardly generated and pressure loss is minimized. |
