PURPOSE:To provide a catheter type ultrasonic probe which is flexiible and fine in diameter and enables high production efficiency. CONSTITUTION:This catheter type ultrasonic probe is provided with a tube 1 and an acoustic head section 2. A piezoelectric vibrator 3 transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic beam, an ultrasonic reflector 4 rotatably arranged in front of the piezoelectric vibrator 3, a permanent magnet 5 rotatively driven by the magnetic field formed by a stator provided outside and rotating the ultrasonic reflector 4, and a liquid acoustic medium 6 sealed in a void section between at least the ultrasonic reflector 4 and piezoelectric vibrator 3 are stored in a case 7 to form the acoustic head section 2. A cable 8 connected to the piezoelectric vibrator 3 is inserted into the tube 1, and the acoustic head section 2 is connected to the tip of the tube 1. |
