PURPOSE: To form a sico fiber by spinning a compsn. of a specified polysiloxane and a photoinitiator, exposing the obtained fiber to radiation to make non- fluidized and heating the fiber in an inert environment to a high temp. CONSTITUTION: A compsn. of (A) a substantially linear polysiloxane having units of the formula R2 sio (R is H or a hydrocarbon group; at least 20% of the polysiloxane units contain at least one unsatd. hydrocarbon) and (B) a photoinitiator is spun. The obtained fibers are exposed to radiation such as UV rays to cure (made non-molten) and to make non-fluidized, and heated in an inert environment to a temp. of above 800 deg.C but below 1000 deg.C for pyrolysis.
