PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a conventional weed-proof sheet consisting essentially of hemp, a straw mulching and paper has the following disadvantages: corrosion quickly proceeds because the sheet is compatible with soil, especially the straw mulching is brittle and scattered, the paper is easily affected by water, requires reapplication operations in a short period, causes a sudden rise in labor or cost and is uneconomical and the hemp or straw mulching makes seeds enter interstices among fibers thereof and grow or penetrate grown weeds through fibers without playing the role of weed-proof sheet. SOLUTION: This weed-proof sheet is characterized in that a cork resin sheet can be obtained by charging a cork material and a thermoplastic synthetic resin into a kneading machine such as a Banbury mixer, mixing the cork material with the thermoplastic synthetic resin, then charging the resultant mixed material into a rolling machine such as a calender roll and forming the mixed mixture into a sheetlike material.
