In order to reduce the entrainment of undesired dust particles upwards by the deflected, upwardly flowing air, the invention provides an air channel which leads from the underside of the calming element as far as the vicinity of the lower free end of the outlet port, projecting into the main container of the precipitator, for the clean gas.
