An electric motor-wheel including a hollow shaft (2) with a first opening at a first end thereof and a second opening at a second end thereof, said first opening receiving leads (4) from outside the motor-wheel; a stator (6) coaxial with and fastened to the shaft (2), said stator being provided with a hollow portion (11) and coils (8); and a rotor (10) coaxial with and rotatably mounted about the stator (6); said rotor having a housing with a cylindrical wall (17) comprising an inner surface with a magnetic assembly (26) arranged around the stator and separated therefrom by an air gap. The electric motor-wheel further includes a cylindrical elastomeric waterproof strip (30) with a smooth outer surface mounted around the housing to prevent dirt and foreign matter from getting between the housing and a wheel rim (28) mounted around the outer surface thereof. |
