The invention relates to a motion converter for internal combustion engines or the like, which converts a reciprocating motion of at least one reciprocating piston and its piston force into a torque by means of a crank disc. The design adopted is such that the conical crank disc forms a crankpin with the semi-Z-shaped crankshaft. The crank disc axis performs a spherical sliding movement and orbits a conical shell. At the same time the edge parts of the crank disc where the connecting rods are articulated exhibit oscillating movements. By correct assignment of the crank disc, the semi-Z-shaped crankshaft and the pistons, a compact, robust device is created with increased mechanical efficiency for its weight.
