Control valve

Such a control valve serves for shutting off the air injection into the exhaust pipe of the internal combustion engine in increased load operation or hot running. The said control valve is not suitable, however, for different control methods. The new control valve therefore has the characteristic feature that a control element is formed by a solenoid actuator 7, that a pneumatic control element 15 is provided, which in the closing phases is acted upon by the intake pressure of the internal combustion engine and loads the control valve 1 in the closing direction, and that the control valve 1 is designed so that, on opening, it acts as non-return valve. An advantageous combination of control valve and non-return valve is thereby obtained, the incorporation of the solenoid actuator also significantly extending the sphere of application. <IMAGE>
