A device for regulating the thread tension in a bobbin creel has, for each bobbin holder (1), a brake rotor (brake drum 4). There cooperates with this a brake element (brake band 5) which can be loaded by a tension lever (8) which assumes an angular position dependent on the thread tension and dead weight. At each bobbin holder (1), a loading device (13) working by fluid pressure engages on the tension lever (8). The fluid pressure is jointly adjustable for all the loading devices (13). The individual regulation of the thread tension can thereby be combined with a general variation in the thread tension. <IMAGE>
