In a transport container of injection-moulded plastic, which has a bottom and a peripheral side wall which is interrupted at least for the purpose of forming gripping openings, one or more insertion parts being provided in the side wall and/or in the bottom for coding purposes, provision is made according to the invention for the insertion parts to be flat structures of different geometrical surface regions which are arranged adjacently and/or one above another, consist of a physically active or activatable material, contain a coding based on its surface pattern, and are encased completely or partially by plastic moulding material.
