An actively cooled wall structure, in particular for a ram-jet engine, which can be subjected to high thermal and mechanical loads has a tube bunch (tube bundle) (6) consisting of coolant tubes (4) which are joined to one another by bonding. It also has a supporting outer wall (8) of sandwich-type design which consists of an outer top coat (12) and an inner top coat (10) which abuts the tube bunch congruently and is joined thereto by bonding as well as of a specifically light inner core (14) arranged in a load-transmitting fashion between the top coats. In order to be able to produce said wall structure with a surface geometry of any desired complex shape in a simple way in terms of production engineering, the invention provides for the inner top coat (10) of the sandwich structure and the bonded joints of the coolant tubes (4) one with another and with the top coat (10) to be constructed jointly as a homogeneous ceramic and/or metal layer which is sprayed onto the outside of the tube bunch using the vacuum-plasma method, and for the outer top coat (12) likewise to be sprayed with the aid of the vacuum-plasma technique onto the inner core (14) with the formation of a homogeneous, bonded joint with said core. <IMAGE>
