The present invention relates to a process for producing latticeworks with a high service life, in particular wildlife conservation fences, using waste materials occurring on site, and to a latticework produced by said process, and to applications of the same. With regard to erecting a durable latticework which can be subjected to high loading, it is provided, within the context of the present invention, that use is made, for the production of the latticework, of slender sticks and/or branches which occur when wood is chopped, these being connected to one another, in the manner of ironwork of concrete reinforcements, with the aid of wire meshes.
