<p>An elastic sealing ring for a container without an associated lid, but with an upper substantially continuously extending rim, said sealing ring being provided with an annular engagement face to receive the upper rim of the container as well as an engagement face which, upon application of the ring to the container, is positioned completely or partly above the upper rim of the container and is adapted to form a tight seal with a member which serves as a lid for the container. This ensures that the sealing ring can be mounted on e.g. bowls and pots without an associated lid to provide a tight engagement face for e.g. a plate or another bowl which is positioned as a lid on top of the bowl of the pot.</p> |
