摘要 <p>A device for the automatic shifting of a multigear shift transmission, connected to the output side of an engine, for vehicles, especially motor vehicles, as a function of the variables characterising the operating state of the vehicle has pairs of gears, each comprising a loose gear and a fixed gear and assigned to the individual transmission gears, and a servo adjusting device controlled by a control unit for engagement of the clutch elements assigned to the loose gears of the pairs of gears, which elements establish a positive connection between the loose gear assigned to the respective transmission gear to be engaged and a drive or output shaft of the transmission. In order to construct as simple an automatic gear shift device as possible using a conventional gearbox and avoiding the costly known automatic transmissions, it is proposed that the clutch elements (64, 66) be designed for self locking in the engaged position when a tractive moment of the engine (1) in excess of a minimum value is applied and for automatic disengagement when the tractive moment falls below the minimum. <IMAGE></p>
