PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultra-small thin-film laser which is used in optical communication using light wavelength band of 1.3 to 1.5μm, is maintenance-free, and is superior in resistance to environment. SOLUTION: In a thin-film laser device, the film of a first mirror layer composed of a dielectric multilayer film A is formed on a surface of a translucent substrate 1, and the film of a laser gain medium layer C which generates active ions having laser gains is formed on a surface of the first mirror layer, and the film of a second mirror layer composed of a dielectric multilayer film B is formed on a surface of the laser gain medium layer c. |
