The invention relates to a method for room conditioning, in which air is dried by absorption of air humidity into a liquid working medium, fed in a circuit, in an absorber, and is then introduced, humidified, into the room to be conditioned, after which the working medium is regenerated, an aqueous salt solution being used as working medium, and to a room-conditioning device, consisting of a circuit for this working medium, having an air-humidity absorber, a regenerator and a humidifier connected downstream of the absorber. The object of the invention is to obtain the possibility, with simple means, using a conditioning system which is simple, compact and cost-effective to produce, for cold production with inexpensive waste heat sources centrally, but even then to produce the cold decentrally and individually according to requirements in the room to be conditioned. The invention consists in that a lithium chloride solution is used as absorber, the salt content of which solution is 25-35% by weight on the path from the regenerator into the absorber and is around 18% by weight on the path from the absorber into the regenerator, in that the regenerated solution is atomised inside the absorber in the air stream to be cooled, after dust, pollen and odours have been extracted from this air stream in a filter, and in that the solution residues remaining in the air stream are extracted from the air stream in a mist collector.
