A treatment substance is injected into the supply portion (5) of the network (4) and a fluid is drawn out of the network (4) at one or more points (14). When fluid is drawn out at the ends of the liquid sprinkling pipes (7) of a network of fire extinguishing pipes, a special tool is required to open the plug of a check valve (14) sealing the end of each pipe (7). A treatment device comprising an assembly (12) for injecting the treatment substance into the network (4), as well as devices (14) for drawing out and feeding in the fluid, are also provided.
