In order to produce a tension-resistant plastic-pipe connection between a socket and a pipe, a split electric welding ring, which has been inserted into the socket beforehand, is braced, as retaining ring, around the pipe, which is pushed through it into the socket, and its resistance heating wire is heated, with the result that, after fusion of the in-contact material sections of the electric welding ring and the pipe, the latter are welded together. The ring, which is thus fixed on the pipe in a frictionally locking manner with material bonding, is supported, if appropriate rotatably, but in an axially fixed manner in the socket. |
