PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and cleanly handle a recording head 2 at replacement of it. SOLUTION: A head mechanism is provided with a fitting mechanism which makes a head cap unit 10 fixed on a side of a recovery device 4 while making a discharge hole surface 2b of a nozzle 2 abut on the side of the recovery device 4 when the recording head 2 is mounted on a carriage 1 on a side of a device body. This enables replacement operations in a state in which the unit 10 is kept mounted on the recording head 2, so as to prevent damage to the nozzle 2 and prevent a hand from being soiled. The unit 10, which corresponds to a capping member on the side of the recovery device 4, is made replaceable concurrently with replacement of the recording head 2 in order to stably maintain a proper recovery action of the recovery device 4. |
