The electric switch comprises a stationary contact and a movable switch mechanism comprising a movable contact. The movable switch mechanism is biased to a first position, the mechanism being movable to a second position by application of an operating force to the mechanism in opposition to the bias. The movable contact comprises a first contact engaging the stationary contact in the second position of the mechanism completing a circuit through the switch, the second contact normally being closed on the first contact and in the circuit with the first contact and the stationary contact. Sepn. of the second contact from the first contact and opening of the circuit is effected upon welding of the first contact to the stationary contact and removal of the operating force from the mechanism.
