An improved signal switching arrangement, primarily for use in a multiprocessor computer, wherein nodes of the system such as processing elements are located on separate processing modules 20 and a signal path between two or more nodes of the system is created via a network of switching elements located both on the processing modules and on separate switching modules 30. The processing and switching modules are arranged such that edges of the processing and switching modules intersect and electrical connections 11 are placed at those intersections.
