An off/on-shore electrical power rig can be used in conjunction with redundant gas or oil production rigs at sea by using them as a support unit with all their facilities i.e. accommodation, supply deck Hellipads etc. The rig incorporates wind turbines 9, an air compressor/pumping unit 5, 6 and a hydraulic turbine 1 supplied via inlet 3, and exhausting via outlet ducting 4. The turbine 1 drives a generator 2. The design will produce electricity without burning fuel, thus making it environmentally friendly. It does not have the environmental dangers that nuclear power stations have. <IMAGE> |
