An optical circuit is set up between several optical-fibre sensors (Ca, Cb), at least one light source (4) and at least one light detector (6a, 6b) disposed in order to detect the light emitted by the source (4) and transmitted along the optical circuit. Each of the force sensors (Ca, Cb) is sensitive to a fraction (fa, fb) of the force to be measured (F'0) and comprises a load transmission zone (16a, 18a; 16b, 18b) adapted in order to exert a strain on a stress segment (17a, 17b) of an optical fibre (15) of the circuit in response to the application of the said fraction (fa, fb) of the force to be measured (F'0). The optical circuit is arranged so that the light transmitted and detected provides data representing the sum of the fractions (fa, fb) of the force to be measured (F'0) relating to the sensors (Ca, Cb). Utilisation in particular for measuring the contact load between a catenary wire and the friction strips of a pantograph for a railway motor unit (car).

|
