The device is used to lock a suction nozzle (19) of a separating sucker (18) at a suction head of a sheet feeder of a sheet-processing machine, said suction head comprising at least one governor foot (1) being movable with the working cycle of the feeder, and the vertical motion of said suction nozzle (19) being achieved by means of suction air and spring resilience. Said suction nozzle features a laterally provided bearing support (21) which, in the lifted position of said suction nozzle (19), is held by a movably arranged counter-support (20) until the trailing edge of the sheet supplied to the feeder has left the area of said suction nozzle of said separating sucker. Said counter-support (20) is articulatingly connected to means for transmitting the drive onto said governor foot (1) and is thus movable with the working cycle of said suction head so that said suction head is locked in the lifted position until the following sheet may be sucked.
