Differential protection device for electric lines and networks, which comprises a toroidal transformer 1, located around each conductor line 2. Each transformer is connected to a 4 - 20 mA converter 3, which provides a 4 mA current when it does not detect leakage, increasing said current linearly to 20 mA when maximum leakage occurs in the line, and all the converters are adapted to control respective relays. Each differential transformer comprises a casing 4, essentially planar, which is provided with a peripheral recess 5 suitable to receive within it in a detachable manner the corresponding casing of a converter. The converters can be connected to a microprocessor. <IMAGE>
