Said improvements consist in giving the tank 4 a U-shaped configuration or an annular configuration and in locating said tank around the engine 2 of the boat when said engine occupies the centre of the ship's bottom, as occurs in the small craft for which these improvements are intended, the lateral arms 5 of the tank being adapted to the side walls of the hull 1 of the boat in a situation of symmetry in which the centre of gravity of said tank 4 is located in the vertical of the centre of the ship's bottom of the craft or in the vicinity thereof and practically underneath the water line, with optimum utilization of the available space and under conditions of maximum stability, both longitudinally and transversely, for the boat. <IMAGE>
