High speed two-layer tempered steel solves the problem of simple production of cutting tools that are used for special purposes in cases where a high subsistence of burdened parts is required, and where the application of high alloy high speed steel would be technologically useless or unfeasible. With the appropriate preparation of basic non-alloy steel and added high speed steel, high speed two-layer tempered steel is prepared for rolling in such a way that added steel is welded to the basic steel in a preservative gas. So, prepared steel is heated to tempering temperature in a furnace, and steeling is to be done outdoors and to the desired dimensions. The outcome of this is a high speed two-layer tempered steel which is tempered to the desired hardness and is of high quality, since the two materials stick together by crystallization, which can be seen from the metallographic picture.
