A built laundry detergent composition in the form of a shaped solid article

Built non-soap detergent products in bar or other shaped solid form contain non-soap detergent active and detergent builder usually accompanied by water-insoluble inorganic material. The products of this invention are characterised by a composition which generates a pH in the range from 7.0 to 9.8 when mixed with deionised water at a weight ratio of 2.5:97.5 (a 2.5% dispersion in water). The use of such a composition enhances removal of stains from fabric.
