The invention relates to a vehicle for the collective transport of passengers of the underground type with automatic operation. This vehicle is characterised in that the vehicle is carried and guided in translational movement on a shaped line (13) having an upper guide track (9) for the cars and a lower drive track (11) for the trucks which is parallel and opposite to the preceding track, the trucks mounted fixedly relative to the cars and each suspended on their floor by means of a lower arm (7) comprising at least one traction wheel (19) rolling on the said lower track, the said wheel, preferably with an inflated tyre, being applied at a predetermined pressure opposite the track of the cars by a calibration means (23) interposed between the truck and the car, so as to apply it with adhesion to its track at a sufficient level for driving the vehicle. <IMAGE>
