<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and inexpensively switch over the focal distance of a camera incorporated in an electronic component mounting machine. <P>SOLUTION: The camera 14 incorporated in the electronic component mounting machine consists of a CCD camera for picking up the image of a reference mark on the surface of a circuit board supplied to a component mounting station. The height of the camera 14 is set to focus on the reference mark on the surface of the circuit board. When an electronic component 24 with a different height from that of the reference mark on the surface of the circuit board is to be photographed by the camera 14, a lens holder 17 with a lens 16 mounted for switching over the focal distance of the camera 14 is sucked and secured to a suction nozzle 11 to have the lens 16 opposite to the camera 14, thereby switching the focal distance of the camera 14 according to the height of the electronic component 24.
