The subject of the invention is N-substituted imidazolinone derivatives. These derivatives correspond to the formula: <IMAGE> in which: - R1 and R2, which are alike or different, each independently represent hydrogen, an alkyl, an alkoxy, a carboxyl, an alkoxycarbonyl, a cyano, a tetrazolyl, a methylsulphonylamino or a trifluoromethylsulphonylamino, provided that at least one of the R1 or R2 substituents is other than hydrogen; - R3 represents an alkyl, an alkenyl, a phenyl, a phenylalkyl or a phenylalkenyl, the said phenyl groups being substituted one or more times by a halogen atom, an alkyl, a hydroxyl or an alkoxy; - R4 and R5 each independently represent an alkyl, a phenyl or a phenylalkyl, the said alkyl, phenyl and phenylalkyl groups optionally being substituted; - or R4 and R5, bonded together, represent either a group of the formula (CH2)n or a group of formula (CH2)pY(CH2)q in which n is an integer between 2 and 6, p + q = n and Y is an oxygen or sulphur atom or a group N-R6 in which R6 represents a hydrogen, an alkyl, a phenylalkyl or an N-protective group; and its salts.
