A mounting device for exerting reciprocal tension between first and second motor vehicle lighting or signalling units comprises: on one of the units, means (11, 11a, 12, 12a) for pivoted mounting of an operating member (30) bearing an arrangement (34) which is off-centre with respect to a pivot axis of the said member and including an operating part (32), on the other unit, a hook (23) capable of cooperating with the said off-centre arrangement, and means (13, 14, 35, 36) for locking the said operating member in an active angular position such that the said off-centre arrangement exerts tension on the said hook. <IMAGE>
