Protective cover for a motor vehicle making it possible to mask off or not to mask off certain panels of the vehicle during a part painting operation, characterised in that, for one and the same type of vehicle including several different models, there are at least provided, in one and the same cover, openings (20, 21, 22, 23) which exactly match the configuration of those of the panels which differ from one model to another, each opening being a cutout equipped with a device of the attachable/detachable type.
