<p>PURPOSE:To improve the lightning impulse discharge withstand current rating of a voltage nonlinear resistor by a method wherein a slurry obtained by grinding an inorganic insulating material raw material is dried using a medium fluid system dryer. CONSTITUTION:Pure water is added to an insulating material raw material consisting of zinc oxide, silicon oxide, bismuth oxide or the like and the raw material is ground by a TRON mill. This slurry obtained by grinding is sent to a medium fluid system drying device main body 1 by a roller pump 3 while being stirred in a raw material tank 2, the slurry is sprayed on a multitude of medium balls 5 flowing while being heated with hot air from a hot-air machine 4 to dry the balls and dried powder is recovered from a product recovery device 6. Calcinated powder obtained by calcining this dried powder is ground and an organic solvent and a binder are added to the ground powder to knead. This kneaded material is applied on the side surfaces of a resistor element as an insulating material and is calcined at a temperature of 1000 to 1300 deg.C to form an insulating layer. After glass is applied and calcined on this insulating layer, both end surfaces of the resistor element are polished and aluminium electrodes are respectively sprayed thereof.</p> |
