<p>The present invention relates to a method of and an apparatus for removing deposits from the walls of process equipment. The method in accordance with the present invention is based on the concept that the deposits may be detached from the surface by providing in the boundary surface of the surface of the equipment and the deposit a force pushing said surfaces apart from each other, the force being preferably due to an increase in the volume of the medium, a change in the temperature of the boundary surface or a so-called cylinder force caused by the pressure of liquid/gas, or, for example, of a hydraulic device. The apparatus in accordance with the present invention comprises means for supplying said medium and for generating a detaching force in the boundary surface of the deposit and the carrying surface.</p> |
