PURPOSE:To manufacture a cathode electrode having high dissolution resistance and capable of preventing the elution of NiO into a carbonate. CONSTITUTION:The powder of an iron oxide or a cobalt oxide 2 is added to Ni powder 1 in the mixing process I. Water 3, a binder 4, a plasticizer 5, and a dispersant 6 are added and mixed. The slurry 7 is molded into a tape shape in the tape molding process II. It is baked in the weak reducing atmosphere, and the iron oxide or cobalt oxide 2 is solution-diffused on the Ni surface by the baking process to surround the Ni surface with the oxide. The elution of NiO is suppressed by the oxide film on the surface even when a manufactured electrode 8 is oxidized into NiO in a battery. |
