PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of cracks and scars on an electrifying roller regardless of during image formation or when image formation is stopped. CONSTITUTION:This electrophotographic device is mounted with a contact type electrifying device having a contacting/separating mechanism section 102 putting a photoreceptor (not shown in the figure) and an electrifying roller (not shown in the figure) into the contacted state or the separated state. The electrophotographic device is provided with a temperature sensor 101 detecting the surface temperature of the electrifying roller and a controller 103 controlling the contacting/separating mechanism section 102 to hold the electrifying roller and the photoreceptor in the separated state while image formation is stopped and to bring the electrifying roller and the photoreceptor into contact with each other when the surface temperature of the electrifying roller rises to the prescribed temperature or above based on the detected result of the temperature sensor 101 when image formation is started. |
