CONGESTION NOTICING SYSTEM FOR STORE AND FORWARD EXCHANGE NETWORK

PURPOSE:To avoid the extension of congestion by informing sequentially congestion to a predetermined number of links only for a predetermined time among links of congestion occurrence when a called side exchange detects the congestion. CONSTITUTION:When a called exchange 203 sends a congestion notice frame, the exchange sends the congestion notice frame sequentially to a caller exchange 200 relating to all links by avoiding concentration onto node in congestion. In this case, the notice is started for links in communication and then for links not in communication. Furthermore, when a user frame is in existence in a direction of the congestion notice, congestion information is set to an in-network control header of the user frame and an exchange being a notice destination receives the congestion information at the reception of the user frame, then the transmission of the congestion notice frame is not made to the links as above. The operating rate of the congestion notice frame to the transmission band is decreased by limiting a transmission frame number per unit time by this method thereby avoiding the extension of the congestion.
