A known device for the fastening of cargo on loading areas comprises a connection piece with a bolt which is designed as a stop plate and can be inserted into a perforated rail. By displacing the connection piece along the perforated rail the stop plate is brought into a region of the rail between two holes with the result that the stop plate can no longer be removed perpendicularly out of the longitudinal recess of the anchoring plate. The invention provides a fastening device, the holding rail of which has an essentially trapezoidal profile with a cross-section which tapers towards the opening, into which holding rail a clamping part can be inserted, at least part of which consists of an elastically deformable material and which has essentially a peg shape, the width of which is less and the length of which is larger than the inside width of the opening of the holding rail. Use on loading areas of transportation means of any type, in particular estate cars and transportation vehicles.
