<p>PURPOSE:To provide a voltage nonlinear resistor, which can be manufactured at low cost by a simple manufacturing method, is superior in workability and at the same time, is high in toughness and has a high resistance to a thermal shock. CONSTITUTION:A voltage nonlinear resistor consists of metallic particles and grain boundaries of a metallic oxide having an electrical resistivity of 105OMEGA. or higher. This resistor is manufactured by a method wherein metallic powder having an oxide film, which consists of the metallic oxide having an electrical resistivity of 10<5>OMEGAm or higher, on its surface is molded by pressing or a pressure molded material is further heat-treated at the temperature of the melting point or lower of a metal constituting the metallic powder in a vacuum or a non-active atmosphere.</p> |
