PURPOSE:To provide a reproduced color predicting method by which the three stimulus values of eyesight can precisely be predicted as reproduced colors. CONSTITUTION:Main density (DC, Dm, Dy and Dk) is obtained from the control values (C, M, Y and K) of respective kinds of ink (step 1). A multiple regression formula (2) where the main density is set to be an explanation variable is used, and reproduced color density (Dr, Dg and Db) is predicted by the combination of the main density (step 2). The predicted reproduced color density is converted (step 3) into reflection factors (Rr, Rg and Rb). Furthermore, a multiple regression formula (4) where the reflection factors are set to be the explanation variables is used and the reflection factors are converted into the three stimulus values X, Y and Z (step 4). The conversion step (1) and the prediction step (2) can be unified into one prediction step. Furthermore, the conversion step (3) and the conversion step (4) can be unified into one conversion step. |
