PURPOSE:To reduce space and power consumption for disposal toner collected from a cleaner by compressing used toner and treating it as non-powder. CONSTITUTION:A residual developer on an image carrier after transfer is transported to a cleaner 2 and cleaned. A part of the cleaner 2 is provided with a guide duct 15 to discharge toner collected by cleaning to the outside of the cleaner, and the duct is engaged with a buffer box 14 served as an inlet port of a used toner treatment system. The buffer box 14 is positioned on a pair of rolls 8 and 9 to pressurize and heat the toner, and the roll 8 of a drive roller is connected mechanically to a drive motor 12 as a drive source. Also a disposal toner box 7 which is a container for solidified toner 16 pressurized and heated by the pair of rolls 8 and 9 is located under it. The used toner thus produced by the image forming operation is transformed into a fused and solidified toner which has no property of powder. |
