<p>To improve a garage-door drive unit that has a garage-door operating mechanism equipped with a drive motor (14, 14') and has a control system for the drive motor with a door-function control unit and with a motor starter unit driven by the door-function control unit via motor control signals, in such a way that component failures in the area of the motor starter unit are recognized when they produce what is for the door-function control unit an unwanted running of the drive motor, the invention proposes that the drive motor be equipped with a monitoring sensor (26, 26') which when the drive motor is running generates a motor run signal (LS), that the control system comprises a monitoring unit that detects the motor run signal and the motor control signals (AUF, AB), and that the monitoring unit compares the motor run signal with the motor control signal and in the event of an unacceptable signal combination triggers an emergency stop of the drive motor using a stop signal (55, 55').</p> |
