<p>A device (10) for cooling a body, particularly that of a living being such as a human, which comprises a core material (14) capable of absorbing and holding a quantity of liquid, and means (12) for retaining the device (10) in thermal communication with the body, the core material (14) being adapted to release the liquid slowly through evaporation, so that in use such evaporation extracts heat from the body to cool it down. The core material (14) preferably comprise a polyurethane foam treated with naturally occurring sodium bentonite.</p> |
