The present invention relates to a bed, in particular to a hospital or nursing bed, which is mounted on four rollers (11, 12, 13, 14) that can be braked and are pivotable about a vertical axis, and which are arranged approximately in the four corner points of the undercarriage (10) of the bed, and which moreover comprises a fifth central roller (21) which can be lowered by a lever to slightly below the rolling plane of the other rollers. Due to this lowering of the central roller the bed rests only on three rollers, so that it can be moved much more easily than conventional beds having only four rollers.
