PURPOSE:To prevent the supplied toner from being fed to a photoreceptor without being thoroughly stirred and from causing such troubles as a defective image and toner scattering. CONSTITUTION:This developing device is provided with a separator 22 in a developing tank 20, a developing chamber 23 below it, a toner supply port 20b on the toner supply container 21 side of the developing chamber 23, the screw case 35 of the separator 22 near the toner supply port 20b, and a screw 40 conveying the recovered toner in the axial direction of a photoreceptor in the screw case 35. The height of the toner supply port 20b side of the screw case 35 is made gradually lower in the conveying direction. When the recovered toner is conveyed through the screw case 35, part of the toner is spilled out of the toner supply port 20b side of the screw case 35, and the toner stuck to the toner supply port 20b side is removed. |
