PURPOSE:To make small the room temperature specific resistance of a positive characteristic thermistor and to make large the temperature coefficient of resistance of the thermistor by a method wherein the composition of a BaTiO3, perovskite compound constituting a thermistor main body is constituted into a composition, wherein the amount of Ti in the composition of the compound is shorter than that of Ti in a stoichiometry. CONSTITUTION:A positive characteristic thermistor is provided with a thermistor, which consists of a barium titanate semiconductor formed in such a way that at least one kind of an element chosen from amoung a (Ba1-x-ySxMy) TizO3+nA. O<=X1, O<y<1, 0.99<=z<1, O-<0.002, S: Sr, Sn, Zr, Ca and Pb, at least one kind of an element chosen from among M: Nb, Ta, Bi, Sb, Y, La, Nd, W, Th, Ce, Sm, Gd and Dy and at least one kind of an element chosen from among A: Mn, Fe, Cu, Cr, F, Cl, Br, K and V make up the semiconductor, and a feeding electrode. By using this composition, the thermistor, which has a small room temperature specific resistance, a large temperature coefficient of resistance and has stable characteristics, can be obtained. |
