<p>PURPOSE:To relieve the load of a controller by measuring counts of passing cell numbers from cells flowing on a bus concentratingly so as to decrease the frequency of collection of count results by the controller. CONSTITUTION:The system is provided with a cell count circuit 113 having a total cell reception circuit 18 receiving a specific information part of all cells flowing on a data bus 11 4 a discrimination circuit 19 receiving a signal from the reception circuit to discriminate the presence of cell abort. That is, the specific information part of the cell flowing on the bus 11 is received, a signal representing the presence of cell abort due to a buffer overflow is received from the reception circuit 15 and cells of each channel of each line are measured at one location by counting number of passing cells in which no cell abort takes place. Thus, the frequency of reading from a controller is decreased to 1/line number even with the same counter length as that of a conventional system and number of cells from which aborted cells are correctly eliminated is obtained.</p> |
