PURPOSE:To provide a light emitting diode that allows the light emitted from a luminous element to externally radiate with a small reflecting surface. CONSTITUTION:This light emitting diode consists of a luminous element 12; a concave reflecting surface 18 that reflects the light emitted from the luminous element 12; and a radiating surface 22 through which the light reflected by the concave reflecting surface 18 is externally radiated. A projection 26 is formed on the concave reflecting surface 18 opposite the luminous plane of the luminous element 12. This allows light reflected by the concave reflecting surface 18 to be externally radiated without being interrupted by the luminous element. |
